Welcome to The
Oakland County Sportsmen's Club

The Oakland County Sportsmens Club (OCSC) is a private not-for-profit organization that provides its members the opportunity to pursue outdoor recreational activities.

OCSC Office Hours are: Tuesday to Saturday 9am to 5pm

Founded in 1943 on more than 200 acres of land bordering Waterford Road in Independence Township.

We encourage family participation, personal skill development and community involvement. For more than 75 years our organization and its members have promoted conservation, hunting, fishing and other outdoor recreational activities. The club’s facilities regularly provide members and guests with the opportunity for both indoor and outdoor archery, pistol ranges, 25, 50 & 100 yard rifle ranges, muzzleloading, skeet and trap shotgun ranges, quarter midget racing and WHRRI road racing.

Community Support

Additionally, OCSC supports our local communities through the promotion of conservation and wildlife education programs, such as the DNR-sponsored hunter safety course and OCSC Jr. Rifle and Archery programs, which promote firearm and weapons safety.

The club sponsors a Boys Scout Troop, has initiated programs for educating youths in such areas as firearm safety and sportsmanship, and has provided support with programs like Rifle, Shotgun and the Junior Olympic Program for Archery. By serving as a positive resource within Oakland County for more than 65 years, the sportsmen’s club has helped to educate and entertain the community and has preserved a bit of Michigan’s heritage as a state rich in natural resources and outdoor traditions.

Benefits of Membership

A newcomer, interested in becoming a member of the Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club, may ask; “What am I entitled to? What does the club have to offer for my annual dues?”

Besides the things listed above, you will be kept informed on pertinent hunting, fishing and conservation interests. All members are given “The Oakland County Sportsman” the Official Publication of the Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club. As a member, you will become a member of “Michigan United Conservation Clubs” (MUCC). Our monthly meetings are held the last Wednesday of each month at 8:00 pm. Each meeting features outstanding hunting, fishing, conservation, and out-of-doors entertainment.

We have banquet facilities available for rental and a full-service bar that is open to the general public. We offer a weekly Friday Fish Fry, which is open to the general public. Come on out sometime and give us a try. The hours are from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
